Paint question 1925 Dodge touring

Sure......it’s called a repaint. There is no free lunch when it comes to car paint surfaces. Either its done well, or it’s not. Repainting a car is LOTS of work.....weather you do it right or wrong. The paint job could easily exceed the value of the car if that matters to you............it’s a decision you have to make. For me......I rather have some decent touch ups and live with a twenty footer than tear it all down.

Paint jobs, and even the materials to do them have become insanely expensive. They also cause a disproportionate amount of grief to old car owners and many never get finished. Don't take it apart. If you must patch it up, use more lacquer. That is the whole point of having lacquer, it blends easily, but lacquer is getting hard to find.

If the lacquer is cracked and you can’t live with it like that you don’t have much choice but to take it back to bare metal. Painting a car properly is a reasonably big job. If you can’t do it yourself it can run into thousands for a good job. Many many hours of preparation has to be done. Pretty much what’s already been said above.
