One of my favorites, too.

They got bashed pretty harshly on Barnfinds a week or so ago.

'55's got the brunt of it, but '56's weren't immune. Jamming gear selector and overall reliability. 

 

These were period complaints, so if you think about it,  the bad cars likely died young leaving the best for us to enjoy now.

John, can you provide a link?

It's always interesting to hear insights from

knowledgeable people.  It can tell us what

problem areas--or problem cars--to watch out for.

The problems of the V8 Packards are all well known in Packard circles.  Repair methods and components have been developed to deal with and correct those problems to make the cars as reliable as they should have been from the start.
