Yes, so much to love about it. Talked with the seller for half an hour. Very open and transparent guy. Really a pleasure, took photos of everything that I asked for. Only real problem is rust on the lower fenders. Mechanically sound car, all gauges and lights work, chrome and stainless exceptionally nice, interior of course not original but good for a driver. Not leaking engine or tranny. Brake master cylinder wet. Floors and trunk seem to be solid. He would repair and prime the wholes in the front fenders for 500. He is very sure to get the asking price. He told me a guy from Gas monkey Garage called him and offered him 6500. Richard wanted the car in the show.....

We really had a nice chat and that's definitely a good guy. But what do you think about the rust? The upper 95% of the car look gorgeous but I cannot deal with rust myself.....

He said, it runs nicely, no rattle, no shaking, radiator re-cored a few years back, 12 V radio under dash, but works with 6V 12 V converter. Speakers are like that, because they did not want to cut wholes into the car. Nice! Push button start, but switch on the carb still there. Tires older but still good. Exhaust very good, but has a leak....

If it were my decision to purchase this car (too deep into my car to add another project), I would imagine what would this car look like when finished and go from there. To make a decent driver out of this car the rust must be removed. So I would put a dollar figure on the rust removal and add that to the price of the car and make the decision based on that. New paint? Price goes up. New interior. Price goes up. All cars of this age need new wiring IMO. But you do not see this car come around very often. This is an iconic body style IMO. Just my opinion.

What a cool car.  If I were in the market for another Buick of this vintage, I'd probably fix the rust myself and do my best to blend in some paint.  It'll certainly need tires, and you might as well count on pulling the manifolds and having them machined if it has an exhaust leak.  I'm surprised at the seller's claim that it's leak free, but that's another bonus (I'd be making sure it has transmission fluid).  :)  If you go into this car with the knowledge that you will probably be underwater within a month (as is the case with most old car purchases, in my case at least), it seems to be a great car.  As Mike said above, when will you find another one?

On 3/16, Seller marked the Facebook ad "SOLD!"

I hope someone on this Forum is the new owner.  It would be interesting to follow the car's journey.

This 1949 Buick Super Sedanet's journey has taken it to the Fall Carlisle car corral where it's for sale for $14,800. The car is currently residing in the Baltimore, MD area. The paint is thin in some areas and it displays numerous dents, dings and scratches but overall it looks like a fairly decent original car with above average trim and brightwork.
