Franklin Olympic
My grandson and I are trying to get the gas tank out of our s5 sedan. I've been told that the filler neck unscrews from the tank. Is this true? I hope so because I can't see any other way that tank would come out. Dave Phillips
DavidAU
Ask on the Ford barn site. Plenty of people on there would have done that and can advise you. www.fordbarn.com Go to the V8 forum
19tom40
Yes there is a sleeve that requires a special wrench to remove it and then the pipe comes out of the tank. Ask this question on the Early Ford V-8 Club site. Kens 36 has information on how to do this. https://www.earlyfordv8.org/forum/viewtopics.cfm?Forum=18 Edited March 9, 2021 by 19tom40 (see edit history)
Franklin Olympic
The tank is out. My grandson used a plumbers wrench and the collar unscrewed perfectly. Dave
