Try to Identify this headlight

A friend of mine came by today to show me this headlight and wanted me to identify since I always messed with the vintage cars and parts.. I couldn't even think what this headlight was for or even a year..  Looks to be very early.. Anyone have an idea..  NO markings but on the glass was US Long distance..
