George Smolinski
Gorgeous car. One of my all time favorites. My brother had a white ‘59 Eldorado Biarritz for a number of years.
TerryB
Great looking car but it’s huge by today’s standards. Can’t imagine parking it or the garage space it needs. Quite a piece of automotive history.
kingrudy
I would prefer this car over the convertible. Beautiful car.

Not remembered today but it WAS a big question at the introduction of the 1959 Cad. This scan is from a fall 1958 issue of Automotive News. A parking garage owner banned all 1959 Cadillacs because they were just too big! (It would be a concern for the owner of a parking garage) so the local Cadillac dealer brought one down to demonstrate to him that they could indeed fit.
John S.
That would have to include Buick Electra, and Olds 98. What about 59 Lincolns?
m-mman
My guess was the the parking garage owner had been paying out damage claims for years as cars grew in size, and the 59 Cad was just the fin that broke the Marlin's back. . . . . But imagine an advertisement from a downtown garage that new Cads were no longer allowed?? That would have to affect the buying decision of a luxury car prospect. The Cad dealer would have to do some damage control.
Bloo
A 59 Cadillac has a surprisingly tight turning circle for a car of that size.
