bgreene30
Hi, I am selling my 1948 Pontiac Streamliner Deluxe Silver Streak 8. $21,000 OBO! If you like, or have ever wanted one of these cars, there is not a more original, better example out there. Car is completely original less one repaint. Originally owned by Foster Ward of the Pontiac Oakland club Los Angeles chapter. Lots of history, records, awards, and accolades. Original build sheet, keys and car less one re-paint. Former magazine cover car, 9-time trophy winner and a dream to drive. Runs like a swiss watch and is beautiful on the freeways at 75 miles an hour with the hydramatic 4-speed transmission. The car is a two-owner vehicle and been in our family since 79 and in 2014 I took over stewardship of the car as it had a stuck front piston from sitting for 35 years in my uncle’s garage. I did a complete rebuild on the straight 8 which had no internal issues whatsoever. Used all good internals from EGGE and did not skimp on anything. I also rebuilt the carb, distributor, brakes, new heater cores (has two), rebuilt the radiator and added two cores and reused the original top and sides, tires, tubes, filled up the shocks, flushed the differential, pulled the hydramatic and had it gone over at the trans shop and have since put on about 1000 miles since firing her back up in 2016. The car has always been garaged and looked after and is immaculate for her age. Interior and trunk are still show quality. One re-paint back by original owner as it has some issues due to original paint of the time and he wanted to show it and win which he did including 9 trophies at club events. Car has some scratches and chips and a wear mark along passenger side from my uncle walking by the car for 40 years. No rust, dents, body issues other than that. Things still need to be done. Speedo needs to be sent out as well as oil pressure gauge. We used a standalone gauge, and it idles at 42 PSI. Car is a true dream to drive and an iconic piece of American automotive engineering. Does not smoke or have any moisture in exhaust as could be expected from a fresh rebuild. Read my feedback and bid with confidence. If you have any questions or comments or need additional photos let me know. I have a video of the car running I can send if you reach out. PONTIAC1953
the 1948 Pontiac is a Streamliner Deluxe, the emblems that read Silver 8 Streak has nothing to do with the model name of the car, that emblem is just Pontiac's name for the engine, and just for the engine.
