Dustless blasting with water and glass?

I just saw this method for the first time while searching my local area for regular auto media blaster firms to do my lock ring 27 chrysler rims ASAP and more future metal car bits in the spring

They have been around for awhile. I talked to the company a few years ago about buying a rig, the buy in price really wasnt all that bad, I just had cold feet. I still think about it every once in awhile.

I had my convertible coupe body done by the dustless method. Very pleased with the results, just need to vacuum up the slurry left behind.

 I had a salesman offer me 5 bags of crushed glass to be used in my sandblaster free of charge. (not the dustless system)

 It was a hot day and I was wearing a tee shirt.

 At the end of the project my elbow pits were all blood from the crushed glass.   🥵

There's a rust inhibitor in the water, I had no flash rusting at all.

Once again proving the value of proper protective equipment.

 

I've used (dry) crushed glass media exclusively for years now. I love it. Silicosis is no longer a concern and it does a fantastic job. It also seems a little less sensitive to absorbing moisture. I take care not to point the blast nozzle at bodily cavities, however...
