Fred B.
Finishing a basket case 35 Ford cabriolet and need guidance on the top installation. Bought it 26 years ago, came with new LB interior and top which is still in excellent shape in the box, no instructions. Need rear bow height, how top attaches to rear body tub (does it need a tack strip? adhesive? ) and front header bow top attachment details. Have decent top irons and wood bows but nothing else from original top. Have done a few modern tops but this is a bit different. Thanks for any help Edited January 8, 2021 by Fred B. Fred B.
1935 Ford Cabriolet- Found the channel that goes around the body tub that holds the tack strip for the rear of the top and back window panel. Now if I can just get some detail of how the top is finished at the header bow and the stamped tin piece that is nailed to the underside of the header panel. Is that panel just a finish panel? Bow height 19" ?

Fred B.
Hi , My 35 is a Cabriolet with a fixed windshield frame, similar to a convertible sedan. In other words, the frame is surrounded by a rubber seal, held in the opening by screws from the inside and is not capable of opening. Coupes and sedans had a crank out windshield that have hinges at the top. Hope this helps
Operator
We have since found out that we think it’s a Phaeton. We do have pictures of it. But (1) measurement is 14-1/2 high and it’s 45-1/8” wide.
19tom40
If you are still looking for help installing the top, go to the Early Ford V-8 club forums and post your questions. Someone there might still have the LeBaron-Bonney instructions. https://www.earlyfordv8.org/forum/index.cfm
