Marty Roth
According to the George Dammann book, per 1918, "Buick returned to the 7-passenger field this year with the introduction of the Model E-49 Touring and E-50 Sedan."
Morgan Wright
E-49 sold over 16,000 and E-50 was much less popular and sold under 1000, because it was so expensive and people still wanted touring cars, and not pay extra for enclosed cars. This was true in 1919, 20, and 21, but in 1922 the model 50 started to catch up in sales to the 49, and in 23 and 24 it outsold the 49, people started wanting enclosed cars by then which were becoming less expensive than before.
