You don't find good originals like this too often. This E & J all brass carbide generator is a good, well preserved, original example. It is complete with its running board mounting bracket, mounting hardware and the original removable carbide basket. It measures about 13" tall with a 6 1/4" base diameter. The minor faults I can find are: the filler cap has been replaced (I think correct reproductions are available), the on/off lever is missing its small extension piece and the top is very slightly indented. I have not tried to clean this, as I think it would look great as-is on an original car but it could be easily polished and taken to the next level if desired. It is a good, clean unit. A great addition to any brass era car.

 

The reproductions-if you can still get one made- were selling for about 1,900.00 and the reproductions brackets alone sell for about 190.00.
