36threewindow
I have a 1936 Buick Special coupe and saw an add for a 1936 Buick (LH) drivers door lock assembly the add indicated it was for a 4 door car. Does anybody know if there is a difference in the drivers door lock assembly from a coupe to a 4 door model ?
MCHinson
While I have no personal experience with it, from a quick check in the Body Parts Manual, it appears that all 1936 Left side door lock assemblys are part number 4062642. It is also appears to be the same part number used in 1934 and 1935 left hand doors. Another alternative would be to call Dave Tacheny. He likely has the part you need. You can best reach him between 4 and 7 pm Central at 763-427-3460. He will know what fits it from personal experience and will likely have one available at a reasonable price. pont35cpe
I`m pretty sure the front door latch assembly is the same for 2 and 4 doors, and all series. Back door latch assemblies are different from the front. Also a front door latch from a `35 Chevy Master(suicide doors)RH will work for a `36 drivers LH door.
