greenie
Found in a tool kit from a 1970’s Alfa Romero. Possibly a tool to manually operate headlights, or ???

1937hd45
Looks like the gear fits on an oil pump drive or distributor drive on a camshaft. May have something to do with setting valve clearance with the head off the block allowing you to turn the cams. Bob
1937hd45
Google had a photo, further eBay search turned up one. It is a power window cable adjusting tool. Bob
TTR
Manual (emergency/override) crank for power window regulators used in some ‘60s/‘70s Italian and perhaps French cars The pictured example appears to be commonly available, inexpensive ($10-$20/each ?) plastic replacement/reproduction. The “original” cranks were made of steel handle with brass gear drive (+ the spring). Edited December 14, 2020 by TTR (see edit history)
greenie
Thanks. I did see one that sold on eBay for $88. This one came along in an Alfa Romero tool kit I found at a small swap meet. Some smart folks on here!

You're welcome, but let's not forget that just because one sold (or is just offered ?) for $88 (+shipping ?) doesn't mean they're all worth anywhere near that to most buyers and that plenty can be found for far less. YMMV. Edited December 14, 2020 by TTR (see edit history)
