WPVT
Does anyone own a "Kee Sanding Harp", a neat little device made in CalifornKa in the early 2000's ? It looked sort of like a small bucksaw frame, but held narrow emery paper strips. It looks like a handy tool. I came across an ad for it in an old magazine. Grimy
I bought one 20 years ago but have yet to use it. Probably will do so one wooden wheels on the Paige which just need paint, not reconstruction.
1937hd45
Roll bar, or tube chassis sanding it the only things I can think of to use that on. What were your plans? Studemax
Very common in body shops....
ryan95
It looks simple enough to make if you're desperate for one. One of the best attitudes that I have gained from this hobby is "if you can't buy it, make it."
ryan95
Or you could buy this sanding bow on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Rockler-SANDING-BOW/dp/B07WMXN3LX/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=sanding+bow+tool&qid=1607948727&s=hi&sr=1-2
WPVT
Thanks. Or I could just hold the paper in my fingers I suppose. It was a gadget that caught my eye. I miss seeing the inventions that small time manufacturers used to come up with, as well as their ads. It wasn't that long ago.
ryan95
Completely understandable. There are tools that get the job done and tools that are a joy to use. My favorite tools are usually at least 50 years old, USA made, and feel like they will last for many generations.
1937hd45
Just wondering what you plan to sand with it. Bob
JustDave
I’ve worked in body shops in California For many years never used one or seen one in a body shop, I worked as an apprentice machinist in an automotive machine shop when I was 18=19 years old,the owner used one similar to polish crankshafts, Dave
46 woodie
What would you use it on? Can't do flat panels, the sandpaper is too narrow for curved panels and the handle makes it hard to get into tight spaces. The only thing I would use it for, is to sand/polish something spinning in a lathe. Like Dave, I have been in body shops all my life and have never seen one used.
