I'm wondering about the red steering wheel and column in combination with the black dash.  In a '54 Roadmaster, I'd have expected a wheel/column/dash color match -- at least in a coupe or sedan.  Were steering wheel colors optional?

It's also interesting that (per the C/L text) the seller thinks that '54 was the first year of the 322 "for this model."  That qualifier sounds more pertinent to the '56 Special.

Given all the current enthusiasm for good original unrestored cars, this one is little short of spectacular!

What is the knob under the dash just below the heater controls?  Neither of the '54 76Rs I've owned had this item.  Could it be the convertible top switch?

Concerning the confusion over '53/'54 Buick engines, I suspect that some folks take the continuing presence of the straight 8 in '53 Specials to mean that all Buicks retained that engine that year.  Further confusion arises over the fact that when the Special finally got a V8 in 1954, it was smaller than than the 322 supplied in the other models -- which continued to be the case until 1956.

Well obviously either I'm not a Human or I don't know what a damn train or truck looks like so can't pass the humanoid captcha test Craigslist makes you go through to  get the phone number.

Unless this car has some hidden problems, even $40K is a steal IMO

@6T-FinSeeker I copied and pasted the CL address but got an Address Not Found Message. My main interest here is just to communicate with the owner, not really in the market to purchase.

Again, the Seller did not include a phone # in the relisted ad, only the Craigslist email address.

"It's not selling.  I bet more people would be

interested at a higher price."

The thinking of such a seller baffles me!

Well ...

Back in '06 at Hershey we placed a car in a tent on the swap meet field and listed the price on Tuesday at $50K.

Someone in the crowd said "i'll come back Saturday when you drop your price".

Noting to all watching, we advised that the price would increase $5K each day.

It sold that Friday for $65K
