Guest
Is there some mechanism through AACA to determine if a car has received its Senior Award? I am considering the purchase of a car that the owner claims has this designation.
Dynaflash8
Yes, AACA puts out a booklet (I do not know the price but you can get it by calling Headquarters at 1-717-534-1910.) It lists all winners back to the mid-1950s. Ofcourse you need to know the name of the owner at the time the car won the award. The date listed is when the car won the 1st Junior. Designation as winner of a Senior, Grand National 1st and Grand National Senior is identified by a seriesof symbols attached to that 1st Junior date. If a car is sold, it reverts to 1st Juniorstatus, and the new owner can try to re-win the Senior. I'm not sure how that ishandled in the book. Hope that helps.I've always thought this was one of the finest features of AACA competition. The1st trophy you win today at a National Meet isn't forgotten the following Saturday. There is a living record of it for times to come (I don't say forever, because nothingis forever).
