1956 Fuel Pump Question

Recommended Posts

I need to replace the fuel pump on my Century. I also replaced the vacuum wiper motor with an electric wiper motor, so I don't need the vacuum side of the fuel pump. Does anyone know if a single action fuel pump from 1957 or later will work on the '56?

NO.

    The 1953 - 1956 Buick V 8 Fuel & Vacuum Pump --- is all by itself.

If you cap off the vacuum portion --- to use it as a "single action" pump --- that is all that can be done, and there is no replacement for it, period.........

I CAN provide that Fuel Pump for you --- NEW --- if you need or require.  Always best to simply call me --- Craig --- 516 - 485 - 1935.

Short of getting the pump from a 58 Chevy bus with the 322 Loadmaster engine, just rebuild the fuel pump portion.  https://www.then-now-auto.com  ask for kit FPA228SA.  This will rebuild the Chevy one or the upper one on yours (if it has the 56 domed pump with one center screw on top).  You will need to call them since it is not listed.FPA-228SA.jpg.755cdf2beec87f7b73a2e5ac82d7b6c6.jpg
