What he says: "Purchased at auction."

What he means: "Purchased at auction because I thought everyone was dumber than I and didn't see what a bargain it was but then I got it home and it became a black hole of woe that began to suck my soul into a nether world of infinite pain and misery. I have never regretted anything this much in my life. They lied to me and I stupidly believed them. Please save me."

My guess is the needs help part is something mechanical that is either a very expensive repair or no one has been able to figure out.  That can be more expensive than a rebuild if you end up going shop to shop and no one figures it out.  Overheating problem, Random no start problem.  My guess is much like Matt's.  He's tired of throwing money at it.

I also had a 57 Lincoln that fit this description to a tee. Only in my case I bought it on Ebay and paid to haul it across half the country!

Well, a vague description, a combination of photos showing the car in a trailer or at the auction but not its current state, and then selling the car for less than you paid at auction earlier this year, yes, that all kind of adds up to someone trying to eject in a hurry for some reason, and it probably isn't "this car is much too nice for me."

The two-tone paint combinations the Lincoln factory applied were not color broken as this car is.  Only the top would be a different color.  Had they painted the top shell pink on this originally all-black hardtop coupe at least it would look like a factory job.

At this price you can only expect a car with work. Still like this car a lot.

Outside okay, interior okay, chrome, okay. Electrical stuff to be checked. 'Runs and drives' could mean it doesn't stop supported by the picture with the yellow 'stopper'. Brakes shouldn't be a too big issue... But I am broke at the moment anyway...
