Guest Curt Fouse
How tight should the radius rod bolt (not the king pin spindle bolt) fit in the hole in the axle beam? A push fit? Press fit? Loose fit? Thanks in advance and season's greetings to all.Curt k8uc@charter.net
Guest
Hi Curt, definitely not a high tolerance item, so push to loose should be fine, they are not designed to move around, but just tightening the bolts well is usually adequate to keep them solid, OC
Guest Curt Fouse
Thanks for the reply on the axle. One side was tight, the other I noticed that it was badly worn. To the extent it would let the back plate of the brake rock back and forth as I was adjusting the brakes on that wheel. Taking it apart, I found that the hole in the axle beam was worn like an hour glass. Big top and bottom and not so big at the middle. The pin was worn bad and I have built it up and will turn it to size it when I get the hole trued up. This is not an easy hole to ream out. Have a good new year.Curt
