Pete Phillips Posted October 20, 2020 Share Posted October 20, 2020 Definitely a model 69, Century Caballero. Look at the chrome strips on the roof. No other wagon has those. Another indicator is all the stainless around the lift gate window, the other wagons including the Oldsmobile Fiestas did not have the chrome trim around the tailgate window. Its ironic, but I have a NOS tailgate glass that I bought a long time ago in case I needed it for my wagon. It DOES look like it has the Caballero script on the quarter panels, too. FireballV8 is right, too. All that extra stainless trim around the tailgate glass=Caballero. drhach Posted October 28, 2020 Share Posted October 28, 2020 So what is a mint Caballero worth? $50K? I have to admit the few I've seen around here are absolutely drop dead gorgeous. But that looks like a massive undertaking, even if it is somewhat complete. FireballV8 Posted October 29, 2020 Share Posted October 29, 2020 A few years back, Gooding and Co sold a very nice 58 Caballero just under $100,000, I think it was $97,000. Either way if you have one restored it will cost a lot more than that, unless you do the majority of the restoration yourself. While I like Caballeros just like the next guy, they are not a Nomad. And I would personally not pay a premium over any Buick stationwagon.
