1960 Buick Electra 225 Dynoflow Transmission Oil Leakage Problem

Recommended Posts

I bought my 1960 Model Buick Electra last year. I learned, in Dynoflow Transmissions, there is an oil leakage problem. Is there any solution you can suggests? Wrenchs here in Turkey couldn't find any solution. Leakage is at the shaft sleeve. Leakage starts when the car is parked, there is a daily 100mL leak. I would be very please if you'd answer soon.IMG-20200219-WA0018.thumb.jpg.04e0f861b336fb9fbcf7630e294377e2.jpg

Then that is a torque ball and there are seals available to repair that.  Its fairly common among the various Dynaflow years of manufacture. Some choose not to address it and it may even stop when the car is driven regularly. I believe your year has an enclosed driveshaft. Its known as a torque tube and fixing the trans leak requires pulling the rear axle back a few inches to get the bsll off.

Good advise John.  Reading the title of the thread I immediately assumed the problem was his Dynaflow wasn't leaking as it should...  :P
