Seller's Description:

1978 Ford Thunderbird Diamond Jubilee Edition

  • condition: like new
  • cylinders: 8 cylinders
  • odometer: 56250
  • paint color: blue

56k, strong 400, all original, new tires battery. Always stored inside one owner before my purchase last year. Family health issues forces the sale of some of my collector cars. Still retains original title and all paperwork since new including warranty card manuals brochures act. Has new tires, battery, etc.
Diamond Jubilee Thunderbird was a distinct offering only in 1978, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of ford. Offered initially in this ice blue color, they are very rare and hard to find today. Especially being in exceptional condition. Don't confuse this with a lesser car.

Car is in nice condition, but all eras of the four-seat T-Birds are generally affordable - even the earlier more iconic (2nd to 5th gen) cars - so, to me, the price on this car is a little on the high side. Another few thousand could buy you a pretty nice '63 or '66 or two door '67, all cars which more uniquely and distinctively say, "Thunderbird."

I'm truly not trying to bash this car, but when I see one of these late '70's T-Birds coming down the road I'm always trying to figure out if it's a T-Bird or a Cougar or one of those Lincoln Mark whatevers at first glance. OTOH, it still is a cool car and for people who remember them as youngsters, definitely something worth owning. Just try to buy it for more like 10k or a little less. As usual, thanks for posting.
