Let’s see some Airstream pictures... the more the better!

My 36 C7.  About 6 years ago just before I sold it and one taken a couple years earlier when I just finished wood graining the dash.  Drove very nice.  I also rebuilt the engine, brakes,  put new tires on it, blasted and repainted the wheels,  wet sanded out the paint, removed and cleaned the interior and put a new stainless steel exhaust on it among a bunch of other things.

Pretty dash.

That's a Grain it kit I used to do it.  I know the pattern is wrong,  but I wanted a tiger-ed mahogany finish.  It was a pain to do as it has such a curl to that top rail to wrap around when you roll it with the inked up roller and blend all together.  The rest of the moldings were very easy.

Chryslers are such good pre war mid size cars........often overlooked. They are a great value, and the guys who have them absolutely love them. They have great road manners and keep up well in modern traffic. Joe’s car makes me want to run out and buy one. AJ has been driving one lately and I think he has more miles on it than he ever got on his “car with a star”.

Though similar I had a 36 Plymouth coupe years ago,  that found it's way back to my area about the time I had my 36 Chrysler and I got to go for a ride in it.  My 36 Chrysler just seemed like a much nicer car all the way around than that Plymouth.  You could see why they cost more when new but seemed like you got alot of value for the cost.

Joe,

That is a really beautiful car.  I would love to find some really nice hub caps for the 1935 with the number 8 in the center.  They are rather hard to find.  I have seen a lot of caps with just the Chrysler script but not many with the 8.  I think they might have been for the DeLuxe model CZ8 but not sure.  I have the parts book so will have to see if the part number is different than the CZ8.   Let me know if you find a batch of NOS ones at a good price LOL.  I really am enjoying this new sub for the Airstream,  I feel welcome here and we can all share our experiences about our Airstreams.

Everyone,

Here are some pictures of the '35 CZ I took last weekend; the first two are when I took it to Starbucks in town, it generated a lot of interest, even as I could tell no one knew what it was...(to be fair, it only has two very small "Chrysler" badges on the front & rear).  This was the first real trip we took in the car to date.  There is a long and fairly steep hill going back up to my house and I was quite impressed, the 8 took it in 3rd gear all the way!

Here is a picture taken that evening; thought it would be neat to experience some night-time driving...pretty cool even if it was tantamount to holding 2 candles up in front of the car....I can see why so many converted these to sealed beam lights later on and even 12v.  Someday, I will investigate in making the lamps a bit brighter, cleaning grounds, redoing the reflectors et cetera, but will always retain the original look and 6v system. Apologize for me in the picture, the focus is the car, not myself!!

And lastly for now, I saw some comments regarding the CZ hubcaps earlier in the thread; I removed mine when as I went through some brake and rear axle maintenance several weeks back.  Took the opportunity to clean and polish them.  Turned out they shine really nicely.  The black paint on the "8" appears to be factory, all 4 have them and make each look really unique.
