leomara
Powder coating for wire wheels is the way to go but I have not read anything about powder coating split ring rims and the metal on a wood spoke wheel. I'm doing a 1928 Chrysler which has this setup.
vintchry
Quote Not recommended, Zinc, cadmium or galvanizing. Chrome plating on the lock ring if correct, be sure your plater knows about hardening the ring because of the plating process, some are aware and some are not. do NOT use a plater that is not aware! stakeside
Powder coating is not very durable. The split rim is subjected lots of impact while it is placed on a rim. Powder coating will tend to crack and flake off.
