dross1958 48
We are reducing our car collection to a more manageable number due to storage space issues and have decided to part with a few of our original cars that we do not drive often. This is a 1978 Datsun 510 station wagon with low mileage and no rust from the South --- truly a time capsule. Odometer shows 13,500 miles ( since we take it on short trips every month the mileage does change ) Fabulous shiny paint ( ' Chartreuse " which Datsun offered in 1978 and 1979 ) with no body damage or rust. Interior is original with only one area of vinyl repair on the driver's seat. It shows very well -- everything works. The car drives great with no weird noises, no smoking, no dripping and no problems at all. All the maintenance items have been done as well as all safety items ( brakes, tires, fuel lines ) so we could drive it when we wanted with out issues. Starts right up,,, warms up quickly, idles smoothly, has lots of power and is actually a fun car to drive. As it is an original and unrestored car, so there may be some blemishes that you would find with any 42 year old car such as age or deterioration wear on rubber, metal or glass but you will be hard pressed to find anything wrong and astonished that this is a 42 year old used car. We want nothing in trade - we have enough cars and are trying to whittle down what we have. As this is a 42 year old used car, it is sold as is, where is, with no warranties. Pfeil 678
Too bad you didn't paint it in it's original color. Green Mint? At Nissan we called Sage Green.
dross1958 48
It is in FACT the original color and it is called ' Chartreuse ' -- go look on any Datsun color chart for 1978. Too bad the arm chair ' experts' are rarely right
Pfeil 678
In the engine compartment is the original color-not the color you painted it. Hardly a arm chair expert. I worked for Nissan engineering from 1973-2006. Sage-Green was a internal use name for the color in the engine compartment. If you paint a NISSAN/DATSUN car correctly the engine compartment is a must, otherwise it looks like a Earl Scheib job. Below is the engine compartment of your car. I got the picture from your add in Hemmings. That's the original color. My Wife's 78 510 was the same color. On the radiator core support just rt. ( rt. is rt side of the car ) of the condenser and radiator is a silver tag with the color code. That original paint color goes with your interior, although some of the seat bolsters look like they've been changed like the driver seatback. importarchive.com/datsun/510/1978-1981 Datsun 510 Hatchback 2-Door 2.0L 78-79 Chassis Code: A10 Engine Code: ?????Datsun 510 Hatchback 4-Door 2.0L 80-81 Chassis Code: A10 Engine Code: ?????Datsun 510 Sedan 2-Door 2.0L 78-81 Chassis Code: A10 Engine Code: ?????Datsun 510 Sedan 4-Door 2.0L 78-79 Chassis Code: A10 Engine Code: ?????Datsun 510 Wagon 2.0L 78-81 Chassis Code: A10 Engine Code: ?????
