chetbrz
Anyone have a picture of what the rear roof trim looks like or how it was handled on your 28,29,or 1930 sedan restoration ? I am aware that the side trim was a rain channel. Attached is a photo of how my rear roof aligns with the metal skin. Tks, Chet...
RHLegler
Hi Chet, I have a 1929 Plymouth (4 door sedan) model U that I'm in the process of a frame off restoration. I've been working on this project for 10 years. I'm recently retired so I will now devote time to completion. I took a few pics of the piece you requested. It is made of aluminum (painted black) and has holes for nails every few inches. Let me know if you need more info. Regards, Robert
chetbrz
Thanks for the info. I used Hidem Welt since I couldn't come up with the appropriate aluminum trim. See attached picture: Rain Channel over the doors.
RHLegler
Hi Chet, your roof is looking good. All of your wood and wood side supports look good also. My wood is rotten and I will need to replace. I attached a pic of the rear corner. Any tips for rebuilding all the wood? The rear side supports for the roof have a contour that looks like a challenge to duplicate. Thanks. Robert
chetbrz
It takes a lot of time and patience to redo all the wood pieces. At least you have more original wood than I had. Check out the link to my restoration online diary. Full Project
