It is equipped with a 170 ci straight six engine with the Merco-Matic (Automatic) Transmission. This car is 100% road worthy and passed NY State inspection. We have driven this car well over 400 miles this summer. A freshened 200 ci six cylinder is included in the sale. We were going to upgrade for a little more power if we kept the car.Mechanically: We have gone through all of the mechanicals, replaced the starter. Upgraded the ignition system to Pertronix electronics ignition with new cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. It has an aluminum radiator with a pusher fan on the front, The car runs nice and cool even on the hot 95 degree days. I have added an aftermarket temp gauge under the dash for a more accurate reading. The carburetor is a fresh rebuild. The brakes have been updated to Mustang II 4 lug drilled and slotted rotors with heavy duty calipers. This conversion has the dual master cylinder upgrade and allows the factory 4 lug wheels to be used to keep the car looking stock, but increasing brake performance and safety. The car stops really good. The car has new Tiger Paw tires with the factory hub caps. All lights, horns work as they should a few dash bulbs are out. Both high and low beam lights work, all taillight/brake lights work as they should. The rear end has a new pinion seal, fresh differential oil, with new U joints on the drive shaft.Body: The car has mostly original paint. We have spent hours restoring the paint, there are chips in the hood and a wear spot on the roof (patina) Overall the paint presents nice. There is a small dent on the right front from a small fender bender back on the early 70's. All of the chrome is on the car and in excellent shape. Doors and door jambs are super clear, the door close with a nice solid sound.Interior The interior is in real good shape, there is a small tear in the headliner, and a small rip in the front seat. We have replaced the carpet with OEM style and color due to wear and odor. Overall this car is a nice survivor car, we have enjoyed both driving it and fixing it up. We are only selling because my wife would like a muscle car. I have more photos if needed. We will continue to drive this car until it sells, so it may have a few more miles on it. suchan
23K miles? That's not the story the front seat tells. Seller should've taken the $5K.
JamesR
I think this would be more fun than a muscle car; I could buy it, dress up like an old man and drive it around town. Oh, wait a minute...I already dress up like an old man 😜

deac
It really bothers me when the seller doesn't post overall pictures of the car. The seller on this car only posts pictures of what he/she wants you to see.

Detailed photos are great, but 5 to 10% of the photos should give on overview to see if something's not right. I wonder what the impetus was for dropping a V8 in within the last year? Bad original engine or an "everyone wants a V8" thing?

TerryB
A 170ci was for fuel economy only. Kids on bicycles pass you going up hills. 1
