the "removemefirst" part should in fact be removed. I put that there to prevent people from stealing valid email addresses from the forum.

fordee9er,

I don't think the sun has anything to do with it, except it makes your mood better & the vitamin C you get from the orangetree in the back gets you through the harsh Florida winter. It was on a Tuesday this year grin.gif As far as my responce to you, we where talking about the profile, WHERE YOU HAVE NO NAME, and yes, I can read your signature.

Peter & Peter, Why not just use the private message icon and just send it direct. Then it's not necessary to reprint the mailing address? Wayne

Sorry Swede,

I thought that when I first registered on this forum that my name, email address, mailing address, etc. were all public records. I don't know what happened when the forum changed but I apologize for any inconveniences that this change has created. At the same time, I must surrender and agree with you that it makes perfect sence to do business with and exchange money for goods and/or services with anonymous/unregistered users. What the heck, who cares if there is a way to track the buyer or seller down?

fordee9er,

I fail to see your point. What is the difference in buying something from you, or an anonymous?

Does the info in your profile,

Name: fordee9er

Title: Member

Occupation: Auto Mechanic

Location: Sharon Springs, NY

make me run to the bank & send you my money without even talking to you? If an anonymous post something for sale here I would of course do the same thing, contact either by e-mail or phone (provided by the anon) and then finalize the deal.

I must be a real dumb Swede buying stuff from people I have not known all my life tongue.gif Come to think of it, when I go to the grocery store I don't even know the person behind the counter but I still buy from them, of course they have a signature (nametag) so maybe that makes it ok grin.gifgrin.gif

What are u talking about????????? the change has ALREADY been made so that ONLY registered screen names can post!!!! To top it off, apparently the 'vote' was initiated with NO EXPIRATION DATE meaning that the vote ran until it went the way of the Registering proponents.

DOESN'T all of this tell you something?????? That the registering IS A BAD IDEA. WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN??????? Install so many restrictions and rules that everyone quits using this forum?????? So many rules and restrictions just to give a few tea-parlour country-clubber types a nice cozy feeling when the sign on???

PackardV12,

The forum's new policy of registered postings only for one simple reason - anonymous posts were creating to much friction on the forum. The vote was "against" going registered posters only. However, as the administrator of this forum I had to make a hard decision to eliminate anonymous postings to get harmony back to this forum.

The truth is - since the new policy took affect the number of offensive posts have dropped to zero and the number of new registered users has gone from 60 a week to 130 a week. The only complaints I've gotten are related to the registration process, not that one is required to register.

As far as I'm concerned the change in policy has been a positive for the forum.

Peter

PackardV12, Didn't mean to upset you. I go to "who's online" everytime I go to the forum, to see who's on and also to see if any new posts are pending. Doesn't take much to entertain me, you see. I was just surprised to see the "score" evening up. Of course, you don't have to register to read the forum, which is fine, but what you don't realize is you miss many benefits of our forum's features, such as telling you which posts are old or new, saving you time in the process. You can also play with your buddies when they least expect it, like I did to Dave@Moon last week. I know some people miss the PHartman types, but I really think those guys were turning off propective users of our site. And, if you have noticed the "new registered people" lately, looks like a lot of new Buick guys are jumping on our bandwagon. Just my thoughts. Wayne Burgess
