Robert G. Smits
At age 80 I am starting to go through my collections. I stumbled onto this poster yesterday. I remember purchasing this at a swap meet somewhere probably at least 30 years ago. I haven’t been able to Google any information on the Sunflower Garage. Any ideas out there? Thanks
TerryB
I have no idea where it is but they were sure into racing which might help with the ID search. I think Kansas is the sunflower state.
Robert G. Smits
I would have loved to be there in “the day” I grew up 14 miles from Knoxville Iowa, the sprint car capital, so I shouldn’t complain. When I turned 18 I was allowed to use dad’s pick up as a push starter one summer. Great memories!!!
3macboys
Love the picture - I'm just playing around with the street address on Google and came up with possibly Odessa, Texas but that's just a W.A.G. but the area does seem to have a concentration of automotive businesses with some older buildings in the area. The current building at the address is an 80's strip office complex
Robert G. Smits
Thanks for the update. I have friends living in Odessa and will run it past them. I have 4 or 5 additional posters in this series and will photograph them tomorrow and post
lump
At first I didn't notice the trailers under some of those cars....and wondered if those tires were bumpers for "bumper cars". It's hell to be old and blind! Edited September 9, 2020 by lump (see edit history)
3macboys
From the sedan in the background I'm guessing that it's the early 50's
