Westfalia Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Can somebody refer manufacturing year for Republic truck model X11, serial number 10800? The max payload is 3000lbs, and the chassis length only 150"
blastermike Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Hi, yes i can tell you your model 11X is early 1920, mine is chassis nos 12704 which is also 1920, it was found on a farm and a tree had fallen across the front damagimg the radiator bottom tank which im looking for plus a few other bits and pieces, heres a few pics of it cheers mike
Westfalia Posted August 6, 2020 Author Posted August 6, 2020 Great, thanks a lot! My car is pretty similar condition than yours, i.e. easy project. Republic yellow paint looks extremely durable!
CliffordK Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 (edited) Oh, hey, you're in Portland... The one on the West Coast? I just picked up a Commerce truck that appears very similar to @blastermike's truck. Do you have the engine number from the right side of the engine to compare? Continental Engine? I'm still trying to date my truck. I am planning to design and make a spark plug bung tool for Continental engines in the next few days. Let me know if you need it. --- Cliff --- Edited September 6, 2020 by CliffordK (see edit history)
Westfalia Posted September 13, 2020 Author Posted September 13, 2020 (edited) Yes, here at West Coast. My engine is about 15000 higher than yours, and I think that my is about 02/1920. So yours is at least 1919, maybe 1918? Edited September 13, 2020 by Westfalia (see edit history)
CliffordK Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 Thanks for the response. I was informed that the book: Branham Automobile Reference Book At least some copies are online (1925) https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=uiug.30112054727372&view=1up&seq=5 Had the serial number information that I needed, dating my Commerce truck to late 2019.
Westfalia Posted September 14, 2020 Author Posted September 14, 2020 Great information! I'm wondering that there is a pretty big gap in engine numbers, although there are only few months between truck dates.
