Are restoration "projects" becoming less popular?

Last night someone in the neighborhood was having trouble with his '31 Model A. My wife suggested that I go rescue him and in short order the car wound up spending the night in my garage as we brought it back to life. Several times as we worked on the Model A my oldest daughter (10 years old) came out to see what we were doing.  Tonight,  as I was putting her to bed she asked me if I could teach her how to fix cars. I have had a smile on my face ever since.  

My wife told our Daughter 6, Auburn,  That someone was coming to look at one of my cars to buy it.  She was concerned I was going to sell her Auburn.  When my wife told her it was the Cord,  she was fine with that.  That alone made me happy that the cars in the garage aren't just hunks of iron to her.
