Could a guy that's 7 feet tall reach that spare tire? Probably not. I guess the rest of us would have to climb into the truck to access it.

That's a nice looking car at a reasonable price. Thanks for posting it....

These cars are the rolling epitome of grown-up cool--easy to picture Sinatra cruising the Vegas Strip in a big black Eldo like this back in 1968.

Seems like a lot of these have popped up here recently. I would love a black one with hidden headlights, the price is right on this one, but can I really keep buying stuff? More projects just means more cars that never get finished. Besides, I'm still grieving the loss of that slick 1969 Cadillac station wagon last week...

I'm with you, Greg, one of these is on my list. I think we should move sooner rather than later--I always thought I'd have a chance to buy a '65 Buick Riviera GS someday, but now look at the prices. I suspect these Eldorados will follow the Rivs.

I'm not an expert on 1968 Eldorados (I have a '69),

but those rust-colored fabric inserts in the seats

don't look period-correct to me.  I think the off-white

is original, but the fabric may be an incorrect replacement.

Does anyone else have the same thoughts?

I own a '68 and that is not correct upholstery.  The choices were leather and two cloth & vinyl patterns, but that isn't one of them.  The valve covers are an incorrect shade of blue, closer to what was used on the '77-'78 425 engine.  The exterior does look nice.

Looks promising at that price, but of course you don't know til you look at it. I agree with others: Cadillac really got it right with that generation of Eldo. One of the best looking Caddys ever.

Of course what is the likelihood of the original owner in 1968 ever changing his own tire?  And yes it is a great looking car.

Then you can buy a '56-'57 Continental Mark II where the spare tire is immediately right there in your way when one opens the trunk.  It was supposedly placed there to make that spare tire stamping on the trunklid 'functional'.
