Seller's Description:

1952 Lincoln Capri Special Custom Coupe. This is a two owner southwest car. The second owner purchased it in California in 1954 and the car moved with him to Nevada sometime in the 1970’s. It is equipped with the new for 1952 Lincoln 317 cubic inch overhead valve V8 engine and a Hydromatic automatic transmission sourced from GM for the 1952 year. Also new for 1952, and a first for American production cars, is ball joint front suspension. Power equipment includes power windows and power seat. This car does not have power brakes or steering.
The Lincoln received an amateur restoration sometime in the 1980’s with interior redo and a repaint in the original Fanfare Maroon color that matches the un repainted door jambs. The paint has deteriorated from being exposed to the sun on the passenger side while in storage. The interior is intact but showing it's age and the headliner has some separation at seams. The car is straight and rust free and does not show any signs of accident damage or repair.
Mileage shown is 89,000 and has probably turned over. Motor and transmission have been rebuilt at some time per the owner, and both work well. The car runs drives and stops but will need some maintenance done- a carburetor rebuild and water pump seal rebuilt or seals replaced as the pump does leak at the shaft.
This car can be a excellent driver as is or a great example for a full restoration. Only 5,681 Capri Coupes were built in 1952 per the Classic car database. Offered for sale in Phoenix, Arizona for $11,500
