The car in question has squared lower corners of the windshield and the hood vents have corners more squared off than the Hudson.

The A pillars on the Caddy and LaSalle are much wider than the subject car.

If you look closely the mystery car has a cowl vent on the left side - in front of the steering wheel. I assume there is also one on the other side.  

 

There can't have been many makes used two cowl vents.

 

Add that to five hood doors and fender mounted lights and the field must be quite small.

 

I just haven't worked out what is in that field.
