Strange object found in ocean with Buick label

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

A family member of mine found this strange object in the West coast of Scotland whilst walking on the beach. The strangest part of the story is that Buick is our family name and it was a one in a million coincidence that she found it.

Does anybody know what it is or could anyone identify it. We are wondering if it may be an old car part.

Thanks

Benefits of AACA Membership.

Looks like a Buick part that someone repurposed as an anchor.

Originally I thought it might be fragment of  front axle I-beam, but (judging from the assumed size of the wood grain in the boards it rests upon) it appears to be too small for that.

How about some measurements?

How far from Arbroath and St. Vigeans in Angus Council  (David Buick's  birthplace and  his ancestral home) was it found?
