65 Ford Falcon Battery Placement

Can someone send me a picture of the correct battery placement in a 65 Ford Falcon?

I just finished replacing the battery tray. The original was half gone, rusted away from battery acid,

Since I have it looking nice now. I'm going to replace the battery cables also.

What I want to see, is where the Positive and Negative posts on the battery are facing.

Trying to keep it looking original as possible.

Do a search on the internet like I just did. This engine in a '65 Falcon looks like it was restored to original condition so it may be authentic. You can see just enough of the battery to see which cable goes where. Good luck....

Yes, I cant say right off which, but the terminals are opposite from GM to Ford.

Usually doesn't matter but it is what it is.

Here is a pic of a 65 Mustang which should be correct for your car too, I think

GM uses both ends for positive so opposite to what ? (some use H6 others 34). Or are we talking 24 vs 24F(ord) ?

Interesting on that, as the 24 F (Ford) has opposite terminals as a regular 24 or 24T. But, GM used many group 24F batteries...... Go figure.😉

Thanks everyone!

I replaced the rusted out battery tray. Bought a brand new battery, correct for the car.

And replaced both battery cables, and post clamps, and it looks great.

 

I am starting a new thread, trying to figure out how my father wired a kill switch, and figure out why I don't have spark.

That may be, but always go for the "F" version battery on a 12 volt Ford if you want original cable routing. True through at least 1970 (and probably a decade or two longer).
