1932 model 55 front wheel grease seal

Recommended Posts

My brother is working on the front brakes of our parents' st Regis. One drum has a slinger type sleeve and washer, inboard of the inboard wheel bearing, held in place with a circlip- type spring clip using  a circumferential slot in the hub. The other drum is missing this hardware.

Has anyone found a modern grease seal that fits to replace it with, and/or can anyone sell us an original set for that side? Their first modern-seal attempt doesn't fit...

Measure the shaft diameter and the diameter where the seal will sit with a vernier for accuracy. Take those measurements to a General Bearing shop and ask for a lip seal that matches. I havent done my fronts yet but found seals for my rear axle.
