junkyardjeff Posted June 17, 2020 Share Posted June 17, 2020 Last night I picked up a 1960 Chevy 261 engine,I was wanting one to put in my 37 p/u but already have a nice 60 235 ready to go into it. I am going to put this 3 speed o/d trans behind it when I can get time for another project that will be a few years down the road,I just could not pass it up since it was cheap. Thinking of a 46 to 48 Chevy coupe to put those parts in but it will be years before I wlll get to it so they will stay in the corner of the garage until I can get to them. junkyardjeff Posted June 19, 2020 Author Share Posted June 19, 2020 It will get built with a lopey cam and multiple carbs and the higher compression head,my 235s have that head and its not high enough that premium is needed with stock pistons so I really do not know why its know as the high compression head.
