1939 Lincoln Zephyr 4-Door Sedan

Recommended Posts

1939 Lincoln Zephyr 4-Door Sedan for sale as part of the 2nd owner’s family estate. Car contains the original V12 engine, and manual 3 speed transmission. Does not run—will need an ignition key and engine overhaul. Body is in good condition, clean straight lines, zero rust, original badges, original paint, garage kept—never stored outdoors. This car has a lot of character with Art Deco trim, waterfall grille, and tear drop taillights and suicide doors, and would make a great restoration or rat-rod/hot rod project. Priced at $15,000 OBO.  Please see our other ad for 1950 Mercury M74 4-Door Sedan with extra engine. Willing to make a deal for both cars. Email samkitchin4@yahoo.com or call 989-698-6655.

OP states it needs an engine overhaul-is that info obtained from the owner, as opposed to the car just needing recommissioning(fuel/cooling system, brakes, etc.)?

Gorgeous car, and asking price seems pretty good.

Hi,

The engine has not been started in 30+ years.  I attempted to put a socket wrench on the crankshaft to see if the engine would turn over, but could not do so as the radiator is to close to the crankshaft to get the wrench on it.   Based on how diligently my father and grandfather cared for the car, the engine will turn over, and it would take basic measures to get it running.

Arguably the best-looking 4-door of the late '30s. I had one and regret letting it slip through my fingers now. So pretty, particularly from the rear 3/4 angle. I find the '39s to be the best of the Zephyr design.

It is a sweet looking car.  I especially like the like teardrop theme throughout the design of the car.

Never seen one without the fender skirts. Is a set included?

I've looked all over for the fender skirts, but have not found them yet.  However, I still might stumble across them sometime as I continue to go through stuff.
