Dicius
Hello, My '54 Ford Customline had antifreeze leaking [a liitle] on the passenger side floor. I thought it was the heater core, so I took it in to have it diagnosed. It has no leaks in it. I'm not sure what else it could be. Is it possible that the plenum has a leak? There's a total of 4 hoses going into the firewall area, 2 to the heater core, and the other 2 [I'm assuming] to the plenum. Thank you.
19tom40
The plenum should not have any liquid in it. I don't have the 54 parts catalog, but the heater is similar to the 53 and it only shows 2 fluid hoses going to the heater. Could you post a photo of your heater connections from the engine side? Remove the plenum and use a flashlight to examine the heater core and connections inside the car. Have the engine running at operating temperature and check it with the temperature control set to HOT and again with it set to OFF. If the core checked out OK, it might be the hose connections that are leaking
