Loshus
I've just picked up a 58 roadmaster 75 and thought it may be prudent to join the hive mind.

avgwarhawk
Welcome! You have come to the right place. What a great Buick. What is that compressor in front of the PS? She appears fully optioned! What is the interior looking like? Your plans? Edited May 29, 2020 by avgwarhawk (see edit history)
factoryben
The compressor in front of the power steering unit is for 58 Buick air suspension. It did not work well and most were removed and converted to spring suspension.
Barney Eaton
Glad you are taking on the task of saving a rare Buick. Buick specs shows there were only 10,506 made and probably only a small percentage had A/C in 1958. Just noticed the other compressor on the right side....does that mean this car had the rare air bag suspension? Good luck and keep us up to date on your progress. 95Cardinal
Welcome aboard! I don't think that carb is too far gone. This is what mine looked like: It cleaned up well and has been running for a couple of years now.
Loshus
There is quite a lot of rust, I have a rebuild kit coming but we will see.
NailheadBob
There is a 1958 Roadmaster 75 in a junkyard about 20 miles from my house, most of the left rear quarter stainless trim is in pretty good shape. This car also had the air compressor with power steering pump attached to it, large air tank mounted below metal shield in front of radiator area. I think a good glass beading and carb cleaner soak would do wonders with a rebuild kit.

Loshus
Where is a good place to find replacement body panels, specifically the lip at edge of the trunk.

You will have to find a perfect trunk lid (good luck) or fabricate a patch.
