What is this 1936 Buick Model?

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,  I have a neighbor who passed and his son would like to sell the car in his garage but I'm having trouble narrowing down what the car is.  According to Cali DMV records it is a 1936 Buick  The  Vehicle ID on the pink slip is 2880580 which I think is the engine ID.  Attached is a pic of the model info.  Any sites or insights would be greatly appreciated

1936 MOD. 91.  (Is that a 91 next to the MOD.?)

91 (if I'm reading it right) is a 6-passenger four-door sedan, trunk back, fender wells)

The 36-4919:

36: 1936

4919: Fischer Body Style Number

4 : Buick

9: Series 90 (Limited)

19: 4-door sedan

Love to see more photos!!

Are you sure thats an "8"? Depending on how I squint I can see either a "8", a "6", or an "S" It isn't an "S".

We love pictures (hint)......

Serial numbers for 1936 commence at 2830899.

Serial numbers for 1937 commence at 2999497 so it is a 1936 model.

So I'm suggesting it's a 1936 model 91, 6 passenger four door sedan with built in trunk. Fisher style 364919.

Will be an impressive car when restored.  Value can depend on the condition of the wooden frame.

What is the location?

From 2018 another thread on a 1936 series 90 {90L vs 91 for car in post 1)

It also has the 320 engine, 138" wheelbase, and cost $1695 new. If it`s been stored inside, which it looks to have been, maybe the wood is still good. Bad wood scares a lot of people off.

Gary W. Identified perfectly

Thanks, but I originally mis-read the tag as a '38....  I went back to edit my original post to correct the year to 1936, and change my 8's to 6's.

The photos are definitely a '36 model.

Gary
