Interesting '29 Series 75 dual cowl phaeton for sale on Ebay

Recommended Posts

Hmm they are a beautiful car but it does seem a little odd no steering wheel etc. and I often wonder with cars like that what else is wrong? If it so easy to get on the road why not do so and get the extra dollars!  But if the price was right and it was closer by and I had the spare coin I would definitely have a go at it. but that’s a lot of if’s and and’s so I guess I will sit and dream. Thanks for sharing

That vice grip on the column probably isn't doing it much good.

Is that car any kind of value at the price?

I have pictures of more than 12 of these cars, including the one below currently being restored in my neighborhood. The rear windshield is strangely narrow, but correct to the car. This is the most sought after standard bodied Series 75s in an attractive color scheme and possibly worth the money if the missing steering wheel was the only fault. No obvious additional faults seen from the blurry pictures and unlike many other "older restorations" this one is not littered with generic parts replacing original stuff. But would have been so much nicer with a steering wheel and sharp pictures.

Some pics of it before the listing ends. I do like the blue colour scheme.

Did the 75 not have the change in generator to the lhs and the exhaust manifold exiting from the front?

The generator was chain driven and remained on the right for the 75.

Here is a picture from the owners manual. Looks like the cutout was replaced by a voltage regulator, the vacuum tank has been disconnected, the carburetor may not be correct and the air filter is missing.

Yes, looks like they put in a Carter carburettor with an angle adaptor so as to get clearance away from the generator.
