1937 Buick coupe fender spare tire covers

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hope you can help me. I am looking for two fender spare tire covers. I do have the surround sections, the inside covers (4), and the top trims. All that I am looking for is the outer covers. I do realize that a person made not want to sell the parts individually but, there maybe other that just have the outer covers. If the price is right, I could go either way.

Thanks, Jakes

Trenton Browne at Browne & Sons Salvage in Sunset, Texas has some. Not sure if he wants to separate the outer covers, though. I think I saw a complete set there. Facebook is best way to contact him or brownesalvage@earthlink.net

@John Jacques would these from a 36  Roadmaster work (16”). I’d want to keep the BUICK badge from the one.

For parts for 1936-1941 Buicks, my recommendation is to always check with Dave Tacheny. He is the largest supplier of parts for this era of Buicks that I know of. You can best reach him by calling 763-427-3460 between 4 and 7 pm Central. He is also a great guy and has reasonable prices.

MrEarl, I think the covers are what I am looking for. Do you know what's the difference between 36 and 37, and if the Coupe covers are the same as the Roadmaster's? Both are 16". Asking price and shipping cost to 48001 (Michigan)?

Thanks, Jakes

MCHinson, thanks for the info regarding Dave Tacheny. I'll contact him, as I'm hearing his name come up a lot as a good source for Pre War Buick parts.

A few shots of our 1937 Roadmaster-

sorry I can't find a close-up of the sidemount spare tire cover, but if you zoom, it may give you a better idea of the '37 cover

The parts book lists separate part number for 1936 and 1937-38. The parts book also lists separate part numbers for different series. 1937 and 1938 use the same part within series. If your car is a 1937 40 or 60 series, you need these parts from a 1937 or 1938 40 series or 60 series. Which series is your car? MrEarl's are 1936. They are not correct for any 1937 or 1938, obviously similar, but not correct per the parts book.

Thanks for that info, mine's is a series 40. I prefer to purchase the correct covers. Therefore the search for the covers will continue. Sorry MrEarl, thanks but I am going to have to pass on your offer. Hope you understand.

MrEarl, no, I do not Instagram.  With the help of Dave Tacheny, I did purchase from him a set of the spare tire covers. I received these parts yesterday, and for a very reasonable price. Therefore, my search for the center covers now has come to an end. However, the covers did not come with the center stainless steel rings, nor the Buick badge trims. I do have a set of the Buick badge trims which I will attempt to remove the small dings and re-use. I will be posting a search for these trim rings and for a set of deck lid telescoping supports. Thank you very much for all of your help, it was greatly appreciated. Jakes
