Isaiah
I HAVE A 1946 Chevy 3/4 pu with a 4 speed tranny in it WILL THIS TRANY BE A SYNCHRONISED TRANNY OR how can I tell for sure ? Tranny is still in the truck and the motor is stuck. If the trany is a SYNCHRONISED I would get it out and put it my 1939 Chevy pu. With old age and heart troubles I think I would like the SYNCHRONISED tranny better and my grandson has no idea how to double clutch!
J.H.Boland
The four speed is a "crash box", with no synchromesh and straight cut gears.Only the three speed was synchronized. I used to have a one ton pickup the same year. It was a well balanced truck (literally) seen here on a teeter totter. J.H.Boland
I don't have the answer to that.I think 1938-47 will interchange, but '48 on is different.Hopefully someone else on here can clarify that or try the Stovebolt forum. Jim
