surfkurf
My 72 GS Convertible is almost ready for paint, BUT....I have the PPG paint chart for 1972 Skylark - LeSabre - Rivs, etc... and it lists Fire Red as code 75 2189. I assume Fire Red is the color since it is the only thing close on the chart. My body guy says his computer lists this code for a 70 or 71 Skylark, not a 72?Help!!! Which is it?Also, I like a deep red color that I have on a 72 Chevelle SS diecast model. The orginal paint on my 72 GS looks Orange to me especially at night under parking lot lights. The painter says that the old red paint tends to look more orange as it ages and the new Base Coat / Clear Coat should have a deeper color. Is this true? Any advice? Will the value be better if I keep it original? As Always, Thanks for the help! I can't wait. :-)Joe surfkurf@aol.com

Guest COMPACTBC
Code # 75 is Fire Red and the PPG paint code is #2189 and it is listed for '71; 72 and 73 Buicks. The same PPG color code for a 72 Chevy is called Cranberry Red.
