DLE1930 0 Posted April 29, 2020 Share Posted April 29, 2020 I,m installing windows in my 1930 tudor sedan. It had no windows... The door glass to metal channel seal,,,,, does the noise rubber part go toward the outside? Does the seal need to be glued to the glass?? Link to post Share on other sites
jpage 422 Posted April 30, 2020 Share Posted April 30, 2020 Yes, the lip faces to the outside. It acts as a dust seal. The rubber should be a tight press fit, but if you have trouble you can use a little urethane sealer, but only as a last resort. The rubber can be lubricated with a little machine oil or soapy water to aid installation. The installation should be made upside down with the channel facing up. Support the edge of the glass on a heavy towel for protection. If may have to tap on the channel to seat it properly but do it carefully, you don't want to break the glass. I always use a piece of wood or a gum hammer to help absorb any shock. Link to post Share on other sites
