Production / existing numbers

I was surfing around looking for ideas for my 27-54 and found this add.    They are claiming 4310 produced, 7 remaining?    I'm thinking the 4310 seems right, but not the 7.   Is there a place they would have gone to look for these numbers?   Any truth that the 54 was 'the Doctors Roadster'?   I thought that was for coupes.

Roger is correct. Auction hype. As I told you my friend here in PA has 2 right now. He also sold another back in 2011. The 2017 BCA roster shows 8 and only attributes one to him but he has 2 so that is 9. I also know of 4 others outside of the BCA and there are probably more out there. They were very popular.

I offered on this car back in 2010. The "some wear" was an understatement then. The original price from the broker was $32,000. A good price for a top notch correct restoration. Pointing out the many originality/condition /restoration issues (wrong lights, upper green color, missing all striping, rear end body damage and shabby interior with many add on switches, cobbled wiring and such). I offered over the current (2010) value for a better car at $24,000. They refused and ran it through the Canton antique car auction that year and only got $18,500 bid which they did not accept. Apparently it has gone through sever other brokers since. With no one actually being able to enjoy the car. And always touting prices go nowhere but up on these investment grade cars!
