Dynaflash8
Does anybody know if a leather interior was an option on a 1953 Cadillac 2dr hardtop? I'm thinking is is a Series 62, but it might be an El Dorado.
bryankazmer
I believe the first year Eldo was not offered as a hardtop, convt only

Also, the 1953 Eldorado convertible had a wrap-around windshield while the other Cadillacs did not.
Jim Skelly
'56 was the first Eldorado hardtop, and it was called the Seville, while the convertible was the Biarritz
padgett
Two-door hardtops in 53 were series 62 or the upscale Coupe de Ville, Eldos were 'verts only. When I was a kid there was this 3/4 size replica with a stainless roof, suicide doors, and dual quads. Sat in a gas station for years but they did not want to sell it. Had a distinctive crack in the vent window that I saw up in Auburn years later. Have always liked Caddies (have a CTS coupe and suspect an XLR is in the future when prices drop.). 61polara
From the 1953 Cadillac Salesman data book, leather was available on the Coupe de Ville only not the 62 Series Coupe. Here is the data sheet on the Coupe de Ville. It was available in dark brown or dark green only. Lewis Jenkins would have found a way to make these red. He loved read leather interiors. John_S_in_Penna
Thank you, Mr. 61 Polara. Despite all our attempts at help, you were the only one that came up with the desired information!
