rjp
Are the threads good enough for a knob if I was able to find one?

A dab of epoxy will keep any knob attached. If you need to allow it to unscrew add a little grease to the other part and it will just beef up the threads. If you can't find a handle, it's a simple shape to make one out of a piece of aluminum on a lathe. It's a simple shape that even an amateur with a small hobby lathe can do. Or, make it out of plastic or wood and paint it dull silver. Doesn't need to be very strong because it's pushed, not pulled. Paul
